There have been idols all over the world for a long time. These artists are famous because of their bright costumes, big-hearted performances, hard-won skills, and charming personalities. People all over the world like idols because idol culture includes music, live shows, movies, TV shows, and computer games.
There is, in fact, a huge market for games where you handle idols. Cross-platform players can improve the skills of their idols, plan concerts, and build relationships with artists. Most games are only available in certain areas, but many companies made English versions of their games so that people all over the world could play them. The number of English-only games has also grown, so more fans can get the full hero management experience.
Ensemble Stars!! Music
In Ensemble Stars!! Music, players are in charge of a music producer whose job it is to help the stars of Ensemble Square with their shows, training, and promotions. In Lives, players can watch stars perform and have to finish songs in a way similar to Love Live and Uta no Prince-sama.
Music has the same idol-raising and bonding features as the first game, Ensemble Stars! It also has a version called Basic that doesn’t have music. Producers can get along better with heroes, get access to more scenes with them, and boost the stats of their cards to make Lives easier or give them more points.
IDOLY PRIDE: Idol Manager
Fans of IDOLY PRIDE: Idol Manager must raise the stats of their idol group in order to clear lives instead of hitting. To finish lives, you need a certain number of points. To get those points, players must place idols in the right way for their part and give them the right photo and accessory.
Aside from lives, players can also set up events to promote their stars. Players can also call and text their heroes to get to know them better. Their idols can appear at bigger and bigger places with each job, event, and show that goes well.
BanG Dream! Girls Band Party!
The game, which was released by Bushiroad, is about music played by bands. Even so, it’s thought of as an idol game because it has idol seiyuu, or voice actresses who also play in the franchise’s live shows.
Playstyle-wise, it’s also a lot like its sister series, Love Live! In Bang Dream!, players have to clear lives by making their band stronger, just like in the older games. To get great band power, they have to specifically raise the cards they get from the performers. To clear lives, which are rhythm-based and depend on exact taps, swipes, and holds, players need a high band power.
A3! (Act! Addict! Actors)
In this game, players are in charge of characters instead of idols, but A3!‘s gameplay and cast are based on the same idea as most idol games. To get more cards, stories, and seasonal events, players must handle the male actors on their cards through practices and shows.
The Japanese version is still going strong, but other models have been taken off the market in the last few years. The Chinese, English, and Taiwanese versions of Cybird were shut down from 2021 to 2022. Fans outside of Japan are lucky because they can officially play the game, even if it’s only in Japanese.
Girl Group Inc: Love Kpop Idol
The new game from Korean company Sunbeesoft Co. is a spiritual follow-up to its three previous idol games. So, Girl Group Inc. has better settings and more features for people who want to be idol tycoons to play with when they have some free time.
Players will be able to decide how to run their almost bankrupt agency during auditions, training, music videos, press events, and shows. Fans and stockholders also need to be pleased while the idols’ wishes are being met. Managing these jobs can earn players an award at the end of each in-game year, as well as a boost in fame that can help them get other items.
BLACKPINK THE GAME

Monthly Idol
There are a lot of features and storylines in Monthly Idol, even though it looks less polished than some of the other games on this list. Real K-pop stars like Ilhoon from BTOB and Eunsu from MYTEEN play it.
It’s easy to see why when this business sim lets players handle all the tricky parts of character management. Eggy Car player is in charge of recruiting, training, scouting, and keeping stars out of trouble. Along with planning shows, albums, and performances, players must also handle administrative tasks such as building up their agency’s office.
Because of the way it looks, Monthly Idol lets you change a lot about the male and female parts. It also talks a lot about the Korean star business, which K-pop fans who want a deep business sim might like.
Idol Manager
Idol Manager was a Kickstarter project that was supposed to come out in 2018. Backers were originally interested in Glitch Pitch’s first game because it was supposed to be a sim that showed how cruel the Japanese idol industry really is.
Like real businesses, players can limit their stars to measly $36 or ¥5,000 a week in pay, ban relationships to avoid scandals, and put stars on vacation to handle meltdowns, among other common strategies. Some might call it the “Dark Souls of idol sims” because of how hard it is, but players can choose that mode or go into free play to make it easier.
Sengoku A Live
In Sengoku A Live, three great anime and video game time-wasters are put together in one game. Isekai-style, warlords from Japan’s Sengoku era are taken to Shibuya in the present day. They decide not to try to find a way back, but to keep racing to bring all of Japan together under their banner through song instead of war.
In this series of games, isekai, otoge (a type of girl’s game), and star rhythm all come together. With precise taps, slides, and flicks, you can finish events and see more of the main and character stories. It’s also possible to gather SMS, in-game goods, and cards.
